William Trusko Obituary

William C. Trusko, 82, of Hunlock Creek, passed away peacefully at home on January 6, 2026.

Born in Kingston on December 30, 1943, William was the son of the late William Trusko and Mary Yasenchak.

William was a graduate of Kingston High School and went on to build a dedicated career as a water technician with Pennsylvania American Water. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, where he also coached Pop Warner football.

A true outdoorsman, William was an avid hunter, rifleman, and trapper. He loved spending time hunting, golfing, and making kielbasa for family and friends. A perfectionist by nature, he was fearless in spirit and honest to the core; stern, opinionated, and unwavering in his beliefs. His household was filled with laughter, thanks to his sharp sense of humor, sarcasm, and endless stories. A gifted storyteller with the “gift of gab,” he especially loved reminiscing about his talented days playing baseball and football at Kingston High School.

In his younger years, William was fondly known as “Wild Bill,” a nickname he carried proudly. As the years went on, he jokingly referred to himself as “Sweet William,” a testament to the softer side he embraced while never losing his edge.

William was a former member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Church and later a devoted member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at Lake Silkworth. He was also a member of Willow Run Golf Club in Berwick, the Elks Lodge in Kingston, and the American Legion in Shickshinny.

In addition to his parents Bill was preceded in death by his stepfather, Andrew Yasenchak, who raised him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Charlotte (Kuczynski) Trusko; his daughters, Nicole Trusko Horan and her husband John of Stratford, New Jersey, and Lori McIntyre and her husband Michael of Shadyside, Maryland; his grandson Jackson Horan; his sister MaryAnn Mehm; and numerous nieces and nephews.
