PENELOPE I. VAHEY

Penelope I. Vahey, of Hanover Township, formerly of Benton, passed away onSaturday, December 6, 2025, in the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

Born in Kingston, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Florence Roman and was a graduate of West Catholic Girls of Philadelphia High School and earned her Associate Degree from LCCC.  She worked as a resident advisor for Red Rock Job Corps, prior to retirement and was a member of Shickshinny American Legion Auxiliary.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother Anthony Roman.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Phillip Vahey and his wife Gerri, Barbara Vahey; three grandchildren, Phillip Jr. Brandon, Lily; siblings Regina Chepelevich, Helen Frederick; nieces and nephews.

Private arrangements, services and burial will be held at the convenience of the family.
